One Year Later | Family Photography in Mandurah
Same cool kids. Now with an extra cool kid.
A year after photographing their at-home maternity session, I got to have these guys back in front of my camera — this time as a family.
We started with a custom backdrop setup that felt completely at home with their style. A little nostalgic, a little editorial and something different from your standard family portrait. I have a collection of backdrops available as an optional add-on to family and portrait sessions, which is a fun way to create something a bit more styled before heading out for the rest of the shoot.
Once we had those frames, we ditched the backdrop and wandered down to their local beach for sunset.
And that combination is a bit of a winner.
Something considered and editorial to begin with, followed by sandy feet, movement, cuddles and all the little in-between moments that happen when you let a family just hang out together.
I’m always looking beyond the obvious family portrait. Of course we’ll get the photos where everyone is together and looking vaguely in the right direction — but I’m just as interested in the tiny interactions, weird expressions, movement and bits of personality happening around the edges.
Especially when I’ve photographed you before.
There’s something pretty special about coming back a year later and seeing the next part of the story. From waiting for this little human to arrive to watching them toddle around the beach with Mum and Dad.
If you’re looking for family photography in Mandurah, Falcon or the Peel region, sessions can be completely relaxed, a little more styled, or a mixture of both. Custom backdrop setups are also available for an additional fee if you want to add something a little different to your gallery.
Same family. New chapter. Very good sunset.
