There’s something pretty special about photographing a family right before it grows.
This maternity and family session was photographed in Pinjarra, WA, with a little extra reason to celebrate — a pregnancy announcement woven into the shoot. Rather than making the whole thing feel overly posed or staged, we kept it relaxed and focused on connection, personality and this little chapter of life exactly as it is right now.
Pinjarra is such a good spot for maternity and family photography, especially if you love that natural, earthy Australian feel. Open spaces, long grass, beautiful afternoon light and plenty of room for kids to move around and just be themselves. No standing in a perfect line smiling at the camera for an hour. Promise.
For maternity sessions, I love mixing those bigger, slightly editorial frames with the small in-between stuff — hands on bellies, kids climbing over Mum and Dad, a bit of chaos, a bit of quiet, and all the things that actually make a family feel like your family.
