A Rainy Mandurah Elopement | Quarry Park to Falcon
Proof that you absolutely do not need a fancy venue, a huge guest list or perfect weather to have a bloody beautiful wedding.
This intimate Mandurah elopement started at an unassuming local quarry park — the kind of place you might drive past without thinking twice. But add a couple getting married, their kids, a rainy afternoon and that incredible rocky backdrop, and suddenly it felt like we could have been somewhere much further from home.
The ceremony was small, personal and all about the people who mattered most. No big production. No unnecessary fuss. Just a family, a wedding and a pretty epic little pocket of Mandurah.
Once the ceremony was done and the kids headed off, we jumped in the car and spent the afternoon scooting around Mandurah and Falcon for photos. No strict shot list or elaborate plan — just chasing good light, interesting little corners and whatever the rainy weather gave us.
And honestly, the rain only made it better.
Wet roads, moody skies and that soft afternoon light gave the whole gallery a slightly cinematic feel. We stopped wherever looked good, wandered around some familiar local spots and made wedding photos that felt relaxed, intimate and completely theirs.
It’s one of the things I love most about photographing elopements in Mandurah and Falcon. You don’t necessarily need to travel hours away or book a traditional wedding venue. There are so many incredible locations hiding in plain sight around the Peel region — beaches, bush, quarries, suburban streets and little pockets you’d never immediately think of as a wedding backdrop.
Sometimes all you need is a couple of hours, the people you love and a willingness to roll with whatever the afternoon throws at you.
