At Home Maternity Photography | From Home to the Beach at Sunset

Some maternity sessions call for less.

Less fuss, less posing, less stuff — and more of the two of you, in your own space, soaking up this strange and beautiful little chapter before everything changes.

We started this maternity session at home, keeping things intimate, romantic and beautifully simple. Using soft light, familiar rooms and quiet moments together, we created images that felt more like a glimpse into their world than a traditional maternity shoot.

There’s something about photographing maternity at home that I’ll always love. It’s private, personal and allows things to unfold slowly. Bare feet, unmade beds, little touches, belly cuddles and all the tiny details of a home that will soon have another person living in it.

As the afternoon moved on, we headed down to their local beach for sunset.

The change of scenery gave us a completely different feeling without needing a whole second shoot — from quiet and intimate at home to movement, open skies, salty air and that last bit of golden light by the ocean.

A little romantic. A little cinematic. Still completely them.

Maternity photography doesn’t have to be about elaborate dresses or perfectly posed portraits. Sometimes your home, your person and the beach down the road are more than enough.

If you’re looking for an at-home maternity photographer in Mandurah, Falcon or the Peel region, I love creating maternity sessions that feel intimate, natural and personal, with the option to wander somewhere nearby for sunset and add a whole other chapter to your gallery.

Home first. Sunset second. Baby very soon.
