A Maternity Session Wandering the Streets of Falcon
No elaborate setup. No flowing maternity gown. Just simple clothes, a growing belly and an afternoon wandering around Falcon.
For this maternity session, we kept things beautifully uncomplicated. We roamed the streets, stopped by some of Falcon’s old beach shacks, followed whatever little pockets of light caught our eye and eventually made our way down to the beach.
Falcon has always been one of my favourite places to photograph. There’s something about the mix of weathered shacks, coastal streets, bush and ocean that gives photos a little nostalgia without having to force it. It feels lived-in, relaxed and distinctly West Australian.
The simple styling was perfect for it too. Maternity photography doesn’t always need to scream maternity. Sometimes it can just be portraits of you, in this very temporary version of yourself, somewhere that feels familiar.
We wandered, chatted, stopped when something looked good and let the afternoon unfold from there. A little bit editorial, a little bit documentary and nothing too polished or precious.
Ending barefoot at the beach felt like the only logical conclusion.
If you’re looking for a maternity photographer in Falcon, Mandurah or the Peel region, my sessions can be as simple as this. No complicated concepts required. We can wander your neighbourhood, explore the coast, photograph at home or find somewhere completely unexpected.
Simple clothes. Good light. A bit of curiosity.
That’ll do it.
